Praise Yahweh for creating the seas and the seashore! It is a place full of mystery and wonder. Some of my happiest memories as a child are of the very beach where I now walk with my own children, but the great thing is that now my Creator is at the center of the happiness and I know He built it all and built me to stand amazed and in wonderment of it all.
Food: Last night I wound up making lots of different sea inspired food choices and into this morning as well. For dinner I bought a piece of Mahi Mahi for my husband with drizzled lemon, the kids had "Salmon Noodle Casserole" with seashell pasta, and I had sushi rolls (yay for seaweed idea!) with marinated mixed greens, red bell pepper and avocado. All of us ate salad (mixed greens with sunflower seeds and raisins) with my simple salad dressing recipe I already posted. Finally, we made yummy hamantaschen cookies for dessert (healthy version-gluten free, sugar free-will post later). While making all these courses, the movie was playing in the background. It made for an interesting ice breaker at dinner, which led to more Torah centered discussion on the Scripture verse from Deuteronomy 33:19.
For breakfast we started the morning with a pina colada smoothie with coconut milk, banana, stevia and pineapple juice. I just wish I could have served it in coconut shells!
Today's beach day was fun. We made sandcastles and searched again for special shells. I think we all found the ocean more curious today and we were more aware of our surroundings. It was a beautiful day and my treasure box is full of wonderful memories with my kids.
