Thankfully I was reading from my PocketTorah app for the Haazinu readings because the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) gave me a great idea to incorporate a new verse into our lives.
Devarim/Deuteronomy 32:41 says, "If I whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgement; I will render judgement on mine adversaries, and will recompense them that hate Me."
We took some glitter foam paper, gold card stock, and printed small Scripture verses, then made our own glittering swords! Just cut a blade shape from the glitter paper, make a sword base with the gold card stock shaped like a T (and a rectangle overlay), and glue together! Paste your Scripture verse on the T's base. Then glue the rectangle piece over the top where you glued the foam onto the sword's handle for a more finished look. We used hot glue for quick dry time so the kids could start using their swords!
The kids ran around the house using their swords, and the Word, to slay any evil forces they encountered. It was too cute.
"For the Word of Elohim is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and joints an marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 (ISR98)
"And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations. And He shall shepherd them with a rod of iron. And He treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of El Shaddai." Revelation 19:15 (ISR98)
Okay, who is surprised that I took full advantage of the chance to use a glitter craft for the Scriptures?! Until next time...shalom and blessings!
