Hanukkah gift ideas for kids!

Here are a few suggestions for Hanukkah gifts that I used this year!

For an infant or toddler, the Fisher-Price Little People Hanukkah Play Set went over very well with my little one!  When it was time to light the candles on the REAL menorah, she was not old enough to participate.  But no worries!  This playset has its own hanukkiah that lights up when you push it and plays music!  She had a blast and didn't feel like she missed out on the biggest part of the holiday!

Onto my son.  Because Judah was a Maccabee (or Hammer), I thought a cool gift would be something that could connect him to this idea.  So I purchased a tool set.  Actual tools (not the plastic kind) that he could use on projects with his dad.  Another idea is to get a real leather tool belt.  An Amish company called Graber has a couple tool belts for children that can have engraving on them.  Nifty nifty.  You can check them out at http://www.graberharness.com

And for your young daughter, consider the American Girl Rebecca Rubin doll (I just purchased the mini doll to see how she'd like it) and the Hanukkah book, "Candelight for Rebecca" to go along with it.  Personally, I really related to Rebecca's struggle to celebrate a different holiday than those around her.  A good read for the little girl in all of us!  Visit the website at http://www.americangirl.com/index.php
