Yet another wonderful congregation out in LA that is shaking things up in the world one Jew and Gentile at a time! Now, I am not on the same page with everything about this ministry (ie. using the Hillel calendar to observe the Feasts of YHVH or calling men "rabbi") but there is still a lot to glean from this ministry and the messages. I ESPECIALLY love the Esther Ball they host each year. What an extravagant affair! The point is, though, to use the talents the Father has given us to manifest a major outpouring in all things for Him. So check them out: Fusion Global. Have fun and be inspired!
A few months back I heard about this amazing ministry of YHVH and I absolutely love the sermons! A good friend of mine recommended this site and I have been ultra blessed by it. I hope you are too! Here's the link: Passion for Truth Ministries
This was completely accidental stumbling upon this cool idea for this year's Sukkot festivities. I saw this ad on TV for these "Doodle Domes" and thought this could be a really fun way to get the kids ready for Sukkot! Every year (when we didn't camp out with a congregation) we decorate sukkahs indoors in the bedrooms with twinkle lights and everything. That way they have both an indoor and outdoor retreat throughout the holy days.
This year I ordered these doodle domes and figured not only would it be a fun and memorable way to get Sukkot on a child's level, but also provide a spiritual lesson as well. When you enter the dome, it's completely black, right? So what are we to be?! The light that glows in the darkness. You can take this application as far as the Father leads you. You could do different Scripture verses in the tents (they disappear regularly) or climb inside and tell a Biblical message with the use of glowing pictures! Totally awesome, in my opinion.
If you are going to order these tents for this year's Sukkot, you'd need to get going since the processing time can take up to 4 weeks. The smaller tents (that fit one child at a time) are $30 each and the two person tent is $53 per superdome with shipping included. Click here to visit the site and get more information: Glow Crazy Sukkahs. (By the way, I JUST discovered that Walmart is carrying these domes as well.) Happy Holy Days!
UPDATE: While standing in line to pay at one store I was at today, there were packs of glow bands you could buy before hitting the register. I decided to pick up some packs of the bracelets to add to my "Glow in the Darkness" theme for Sukkot that is slowly developing (as the Ruach haKodesh/Holy Spirit leads). I also had a few packs of camping stickers that I was planning on the kids using to decorate their own Sukkot cards this year. (We tend to craft homemade cards every year of some sort.)
When I got to the register, the nice lady commented on my items and remarked that I must be a scout leader or something. I said, "Well, yes I am, but actually, these are for a really cool holiday coming up where we camp out for 7-10 days each year." She thought that was neat so she started giving me some extra suggestions for awesome glow activities. She learned on Pinterest that you can crack open the thick glow sticks and add it to bubbles for a glow in the dark bubble blast! And also, which my girls will totally love, she told me that you can take those same thick glow sticks and put the liquid in clear nail polish to mix. You'll have glow in the dark nails in no time! Obviously these are not mandated in the Scriptures, but I've found that little activities like these bring the experience of the holy days onto my childrens' level. Even I can't wait to try it out! I'm adding another link with more suggestions for glow activities in case you'd like them: Bright Ideas for a Glow Party. Hope your Sukkot is amazing this year!
