Here's a great recipe I used last week for Hamantaschen on Shabbat/Purim. It's completely good for you! No sugar...gluten free, yummy! I just sweetened the cookie batter a little more and replaced the vanilla with almond extract. But, no more stalling...presenting heavenly, healthy, hamantaschen!
This book has everything to do with serving others in one capacity or another. It's kosher (minus the chapter I later warn about) and krazy great! The kids and I picked it up at the library and are really enjoying reading it. It's called "Mitzvah Magic" by Danny Siegel.
The book is written for kids, but it gives many encouragements for the mitzvah of tzedakah. I'm glad it's written for kids because sometimes the phrase "making a difference" can feel a little overwhelming. But this book is a great source of encouragement to take baby steps toward changing the world.
Paul Nison and his ministry known as Torah Life will be a few resources that ultimately challenge and refine your walk with Yahweh. I've enclosed his bio and the links to his sites. As a young man, Paul was healed through teshuvah (repentance) and embracing the Torah. Now he is all about helping others do the same.
Now here is some REALLY great news! For anyone in need, you can go to this website and get an updated version of "The Scriptures" translation. My husband bought me "The Scriptures" 1998 version years ago as my Hanukkah gift, and I'm just amazed at this newer version and the platform the project promotes. This is totally Torah centered and something to check out. I've posted several videos from the site that will give you a better idea about the Free Halleluyah Scriptures project and then a second regarding the history of this translation and the heart behind its development.
Ok...well, this is my own recipe that I'm posting for yummy raw salad dressing. My kids, who sometimes can snub their nose at things (especially dressings that they are used to from the bottle), all gave the thumbs up for this dressing and preferred it to store bought competitors! So here it is...hope you like it!
Take one guess as to what this website is about! Yes, you guessed it! The website is just starting out, but these two sisters aim to promote modesty and that is so mitzvah-licious. Here is the link to their site and one of their YouTube videos!
Dr. Hollissa (Holli for short) Alewine is a fantastic woman of the Word. You can see her messages at:
She brings great insight into the Torah portions with a Messianic perspective. To me personally, this woman is like having a godly mother around to sharpen you. My prayer constantly is to have other women around to grab at the nuggets of wisdom that they possess. This woman will definitely be an asset to you, if you don't already know about her.
I don't care who you are, ice cream likes everyone. Hence the infinite flavor variations! But my thing is having indulgences that are life-giving. What is real cow's milk ice cream doing to help you shine your light for Yahweh? It doesn't with its sugar and all else negative thrown in! So try this: buy a couple cans of unsweetened coconut milk and customize a flavor to fit you.
This week, and actually for quite some time now, linen fabric has been on my heart and I have been encountering resources about it's health benefits all over the place! It first started on the Aviv Moon Network and just this week I've been listening to Paul Nison (who I also will have to post about soon) who has been getting the word out about linen as well. My heart would be for us women to come up with some modest clothing designs utilizing this tremendous stuff. So I started allowing my mind to wander there...
If you have a website and want to keep it Torah observant as you are on Shabbat, please get this software! I am in the process of trying to get it, because it seems that the highest traffic for this site is on Shabbat. I am glad for the visits, but I will be shutting the site down (Yahweh willing) on Shabbat from now on. Now, onto the software...
